Nike gave film maker Casey Neistat a large cash advance and asked him to make a cool movie for their new #MakeItCount campaign. Casey didn't do exactly what they wanted. But hey, #makeitcount, #YOLO, right?

With the NSSA Eastern this coming weekend in New Smyrna Beach we’re profiling all of our Flomotion sponsored NSSA riders and next is Jonathan Wallhauser.
1. What is your current position and in what region do you compete in the NSSA?
I finished this year second overall in NSSA Open Boys and third overall in Explorer Menehune.  I compete in the NSSA Southeast Conference which I love, it is more like a family than just surf contests, everyone has fun.
2. What are your expectations at Easterns?
Last year, I advanced from the Southeast Regionals up to the Easterns in ESA.  The waves in Hatteras had lots of power and perfect barrels.  This year I am trying to make it into the top three in the finals in both the ESA and NSSA Easterns.  I have been training hard every day to achieve that goal.
3. Is there anybody you are excited to surf against, and why?
I am excited to surf against Tommy Coleman. We are friends and we surf together a lot and against each other in contests all the time.
4. What will be your go to board at the contest?
My ‘go to’ board’ will definitely be my new Quiet Flight Hot Rod 4’10″.  My shaper, Bruce Regan, made it for me and it is a dream board.  Bruce and the guys at Quiet Flight are awesome guys.
5. What are you planning on working on in the off-season?
I am working on perfecting harder/faster turns, wrap around cutbacks, 360s, airs and taking my surfing to the next level.  Also, I bought a Carver skateboard and I have been training every day.  The Carver is the closest thing to surfing I have found (out of the water).
Look for us at the NSSA Easterns this weekend in New Smyrna Beach!
